Diamond Car

elmas20oala0gp4.jpg

London, Feb 23: All car fans who are a big bling enthusiasts can now have their interests encrusted in one thing only, at least in a small version, for toy makers Hot Wheels has unveiled the world’s most expensive diamond coated toy car. The car was made public to commemorate the production of its four-billionth "vehicle", at the 105th American International Toy Fair in New York, which is also the most expensive model the company ever made.

Valued at a whopping 140,000 dollars- a figure that would normally buy six family cars - the model is cast in 18-karat white gold and covered in blue, white and black diamonds.

The car also has rubies set into its taillights and even the car's case comes with 40 white diamonds.

The car has been designed by celebrity jeweler Jason of Beverly Hills.

Diamond iPod

Diamond ipod shuffle.

The Diamond iPod, handmade by Norwegian jeweler Thomas Heyerdahl, was auctioned off for charity in March of 2008. The gadget’s estimated worth is $30,000. The music player is an iPod shuffle, decked out in 18k white and pink gold and a modest 430 diamonds. Acclaimed as the world’s most expensive MP3 player, the diamond iPod is the only one made of its kind. Given that the Shuffle holds about 11 songs, one would hope to get more bang for 30,000 bucks. One Britney Spears album and you’ve pretty much exhausted your $30,000 gadget’s capabilities.

Lavish Laptops

An Apple laptop with a diamond tulip.

A Dutch company, Ego, recently introduced the Tulip Ego Diamond iBook, retailing at $350,000. The computer has 470 flawless diamonds fashioned in the shape of a tulip on the laptop’s lid. Sadly, you’re basically only paying for the diamonds with the $350 K because this notebook has little else to offer. It comes with a single-core AMD Turion processor (please!) and an unimpressive 12.1-inch screen. So, yeah, you might as well just save yourself some money and gluestick a few diamonds to one of those plastic V-tech Learning toy laptops. The V-tech’s computing capacity is comparable, if not superior…the Diamond iBook can’t even teach you barnyard animal sounds.

Diamonds Are a Dog’s Best Friend

A diamond MP3 player for a pet.

Do you get the sneaking suspicion that your dog is racked with envy when you’re listening to your iPod? Does she seem to steal furtive, jealous glances at your sundry ice-encrusted trinkets? Don’t torment the poor animal another second-buy your dog the new diamond-studded pet MP3 player. For only $1,000, your beloved canine can groove to the sounds of an 18k gold digital music player designed to “relax and stimulate” your pet. After all, why should you be the only one in the house who gets to rock out to Soulja Boy beats?! However, when you come home and find your dog on her hind legs jockin’ on them haterz and leanin’ to the left and crankin’ dat thang, we can’t be held responsible, disquieting as that sight may be.

Deaf Is the New Prada

Hearing aid made with diamonds.

Ever wished you could turn your hearing impairment into a super chic status symbol? Thanks to the 24-carat gold Widex hearing aid, your wish has been granted. The hearing aid and its accompanying remote hold 220 diamonds and are a steal at $49,590. The only catch is you may on occasion want to remove the aid to make the merciless mockery you’ll endure inaudible. But you will, of course, have the ultimate rejoinder to silence any hecklers: “Well, I may be deaf and cloyingly pretentious, but you’re poor.” What?

A Monument to the Macabre

A skull made of diamonds, up for sale as a work of art.

No serious art connoisseur could call his collection complete without a good piece of skull art. If you feel your collection is lacking that perfect blend of the gothic and opulent, consider buying artist Damien Hurst’s new piece - a life-size platinum skull adorned with 8,601 diamonds. For the bargain price of $100 million, you can have your very own diamond-encrusted monument to the macabre. Fittingly, Damien’s skull masterpiece is entitled “For the Love of God.” Our thoughts exactly, Damien.

This is a handmade diamond car special order for prince walid bin talal...it costs 4.8 million$$

he is one of the richest people in the world.

Prince Walid is a mover and shaker, owns a part of Fox News, largest shareholder in CitiGroup inc., the world's largest bank, owner of The Savoy in Paris, large shareholder in AOL.

UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention that this car couldn't possibly be totally covered in diamonds and only cost $4.8 million. So I did a search and found a blog post about an Austrian company that makes vehicles covered in a mix of diamonds and Swarovski crystals. Although Karl Seelos as head of the team (said) that the customers remain anonymous and (he was) unwilling to reveal the real prices, obviously the Prince had to brag about his 'diamond car'.
