The IDS Designer Jewelry Module gives Retailer jewelers access to a virtual inventory for showcasing hundreds of designers from around the world, all of whom have their product on hand or readily available for sale through the retailers website. Retailers choosing the IDS virtual Design Jewelry Module have a virtual designer inventory on their website, different from their in-store designer inventory, which they can use to gauge their customer’s reaction to new trends and new designers. After a designer proves successful on a retailer’s website, the retailer could then stock designer product with greater confidence. After an IDS retailer selects a designer for virtual testing, the designer must approve and set the terms of the arrangement through the IDS back-end administrative interface. All product sold on the retailers website are fulfilled by IDS to alleviate payment and collection issues. However, designers must establish "memo" terms directly with the retailers.
