Light Up Your Face

Jewelry is very much a part of the woman wearing it. It expresses her personality and tells you a lot about her taste, her sense of fashion and feel for beauty. Choosing the right kind of jewelry is an art. The wearer must know the kind, color and style that is in keeping with their complexion, physical characteristics, place and occasion.

Earrings enjoy a place of pride in women’s jewelry. In fact, if there is one piece of jewelry that most women wear, it is a pair of earrings. They may do without a chain or a bracelet, but the earring is almost always a must-wear. Earrings may be made of metal or gemstones.

Gemstone earrings are classy and sophisticated. Some women choose diamonds, others choose their birth stones and still others choose colorful stones that can dazzle and delight.

There are different types of gemstone earrings available, like studs, hoops, dangles, chandeliers and so on. The style you choose depends on the shape of your face and the occasion. For example, long hoops, chandeliers and dangles are certainly not office wear. These will look great at a party or a red carpet event. Drop earrings look flirty and casual, especially when they’re coupled with trendy clothes. For party events, you can stand out of the group by wearing colorful gems tone earrings. For a high profile social gathering, wear earrings that combine lustrous gemstones and the brilliance of diamonds. Small colored studs with diamond accents look subtle but are assertive fashion statements. The sophistication and allure of a magnificent pearl rounded by brilliant diamonds cannot be described. Studs and small hoops make good formal wear.

When you choose earrings, pick up something that suits the shape of your face. Long, dangling hoops and chains look great on round faces. Small drops suit a long face. So do chunky gem stone earrings. If you have a square face, go for studs. Short dangles sit well on a rectangular face.

Color is another important criterion when you select gemstone earrings. What color should you choose? Well, brightly colored gemstones add color and drama to a pale face. The brilliant sparkle of diamonds and dark skin tones are a great contrast.

The type of earrings you wear for an event depends on your hairstyle and outfit. If your hair is short, your ears are exposed. So, make sure you wear gem stone earrings that suit your face and neck. If you have medium length hair, hoops are a great idea. Wear a subtle stud to the office as these earrings sit well when your hair is pulled back into a bun or a high ponytail.

Always remember to sync your gemstone earrings with any other jewelry you are wearing. If you’re wearing diamonds on your neck, wear diamond earrings too. But, beware! Too much jewelry can become loud. So, if you have a particularly chunky piece on your ears, leave your neck bare – or vice versa. This will even out the look.
